It has now been confirmed that Acey Romero has been released by Impact wrestling. The original reports suggest that Acey did request his release back in August. A couple of months later, it was confirmed that he had been released from his contract after the requests.
It now makes it possible that Acey Romero could appear anywhere he likes and will not have a non-compete clause like other companies.
The confirmation Tweet
Fightful has mentioned that the reason it took so long to release Acey was due to the release paperwork taking seven weeks to finalize. We could see Romero anywhere after this release.
It should be noted that his XXXL tag partner Larry D is still under Impact wrestling, so we won’t see them together for a while. We could, however, see Acey appear anywhere soon.
