After Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch’s reported backstage argument following last week’s Smackdown, it’s got social media and fans talking about the possible reasons.
According to various reports, other wrestlers don’t recognize Flair anymore as she’s gone from being positive and supporting to selfish or simply jaded.
It’s important to keep in mind this is all speculation and rumors, but there could be fire where there’s smoke.
After she and Andrade trademarked Indie names a couple years ago and Andrade left the WWE for AEW, there’s every possibility that she’s tired of WWE and wants to broaden her horizons.
Grown stale
To be honest, and this may just be us, but over the last couple of months Flair has looked and sounded less invested than previously.
She still puts in the effort, but there’s a certain look in her eyes or feel to it that comes across as different.
Maybe it’s the fact she’s a heel once again or any number of things, but as a fan something feels off with her. Like a disconnect.
She’s one of the most talented wrestlers in the world and arguable the best in the WWE’s women’s division, but it may be time for her to move on and this could be part of the process along those lines.
2-3 more years
From what we’ve gathered, it looks like her contract is for another 2-3 years, so it’s unlikely she’ll be cut loose any time soon. Especially given that she’d most likely join her fiancé in AEW.
While it seems like the WWE would be crazy to release her, Andrade got out of his 90 day non-compete clause and the WWE released other stars they probably shouldn’t have.
Of course, all of this is moot if Flair’s fine and we’re misinterpreting things. But we’re still concerned about reports that no one wants to work with her and how Lynch is considered a hero for standing up to her.
If there’s any truth to these reports, then it looks like she’s had enough of the WWE and wants to try elsewhere.
This is going to be interesting going forward and seeing how much, if any, truth there is to these rumors.
