AEW became a quick success and took some massive surprises. Through its short lifespan, we have already seen matches we never thought we would see. The return of CM Punk in over 7 years and massive wrestlers leaving WWE to go to AEW. But now, we are in the third year of AEW, and it feels like we are still in for another year of surprises into the third year of the wrestling company.
Beat Raw’s viewership
At the minute, Dynamite is beating Raw in the all-important 18-49 Demo when Dynamite is scheduled for its normal Wednesday night timeslot. Now that Raw is starting to hit its lowest and Dynamite is still going strong and improving. It’s likely that Dynamite will surpass Raw next year.
Sign more ex-WWE wrestlers
Another thing that will most likely happen is the signing of more ex-WWE wrestlers, with contracts like Kevin Owens running out in January. It’s very likely that as soon as February, we will see at least one new signing. It’s also possible that WWE will have a mass release in the year as well. With no doubt that AEW will pick the best from the pack.
Rampage change air day
Rampage is currently on a downward spiral after the debut of CM Punk. The full viewership has been on the decline. There is a lot suggesting that the reason for this is due to the poor air time and date. Making it feel like another day would be better for AEW’s second show. It’s possible that we may see Rampage change day and time next year.
Forbidden Door PPV
AEW has been the biggest company to open the door to other companies like Impact Wrestling, NJPW, MLW, and NWA have all had talent wrestle in AEW. But now, AEW has been opening the forbidden door more. It’s possible next year. We may see a whole PPV around the forbidden door.
