Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
Tonight looks like it’s going to be an interesting one as the WWE and AEW are at war over tonight’s ratings and we’re going to get an extra half hour commercial free.
It’s the Dark Smackdown where John Cena‘s been reportedly popping in and Roman Reigns has been in matches, so we could see something extra special tonight.
Or an extended promo. Guess we’ll find out.
We’ll be back to kick things off and get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling at the 8 p.m. EST showtime.
Segment 1
Edge promised to squash Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel and scar his soul after what sounded like the crowd chanted “Edge you suck” but we could be wrong about that.
Segment 2
King of the Ring Semifinals – Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn
This started off with Zayne trying to grind down Balor, but Balor sent him to the floor and hit a flip as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
An awesome match with plenty of close called ended when Balor hit his Coup de Grace for the win and to move onto the finals.
Segment 4
A recap of Brock Lesnar using Paul Heyman to confuse and frustrate Roman Reigns and the Bloodline.
Segment 5
Naomi vs. Sonya Deville and Shayna Baszler
Naomi put up a good fight, but Baszler locked in the Kurifido Clutch and then pinned her when she passed out.
Looks like Naomi is the new Lana.
Segment 6
Rollins cut a promo saying he’s not intimidated or afraid of Edge in hell in a cell because he’s spent more time in it than Edge. He’s the man he is now because of it, referencing the debacle against the Fiend in 2019.
Segment 7
Queen’s Crown Semifinals – Carmella vs. Zelina Vega
They had an agreement not to go for the face, but Carmella hit a superkick and Vega went after her. Carmella went to the floor to get her mask but Liv Morgan had it and chased her back in.
Vega caught he as she entered the ring and rolled her up for the win.
Segment 8
Happy Talk was interrupted by Rick Boogs as he introduced Shinsuke Nakamura, and after a lap around the ring they headed to the back.
Segment 9
Smackdown Tag Team Championship Street Fight – The Usos (Jimmy, Jey) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins, Montez Ford)
They paired off right away but the Street Profits went for a table and the Usos took them out with dives as we headed to commercial.
Segment 10
The Usos survived the Street Profits’ best shot and then hit Dawkins with dual superkicks and a dual Uso Splash for the win.
Segment 11
Smackdown Championship Contender’s Match – Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks
A PPV level match ended when Belair distracted Lynch and Banks hit the Backstabber for the win.
We knew it wouldn’t be a clean win, but we hoped for one.
Segment 12
The signing was quick and Heyman read it over for Reigns, and Lesnar signed it without looking at it.
Reigns called Lesnar out for being dumb for not reading it, and Lesnar told him he read it this morning with his advocate Paul Heyman.
Lesnar left the ring laughing. In fact, he was laughing the whole time. Reigns looked pissed and Heyman scared.
This was a great ending that showed Lesnar continuing to mess with Reigns’ head. The show was decent, but no where as good as previous weeks.
What are your thoughts on the show? Let us know in the comments below and thank you for joining WWE Smackdown Live Results. We had a great time and can’t wait until next week.
