Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
Tonight’s the season premiere and the start of the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments, so there’s bound to be plenty of fun times ahead.
We” be back at 8 p.m. EST to get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling, so let’s grab our snacks and settle in.
Segment 1
The Smackdown Women’s Championship contract signing didn’t happen and Lynch and Banks attacked Belair and Belair put them both through a table.
Segment 2
King of the Ring Tournament Round One – Rey Mysterio vs. Sami Zayn
This started fast as Rey ducked a Helluva Kick out the gate, but Zayn eventually gained control by sliding Rey aling the mat and into the ring post. Dominik came out from the back as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
Dominik accidentally distracted Rey by putting a turnbuckle pad back on Zayn had removed, and Zayn shoved Rey into Dominik and rolled up Rey for the win.
Segment 4
Rollins defended going to Edge’s house since he said he would do it to get an answer, and since he still hasn’t gotten one he’ll find someone that will.
Segment 5
Queen’s Crown Tournament Round One – Zelina Vega vs. Toni Storm
This was a decent one that ended when Vega countered a backslide into a Code Red for the win. We love Vega, but the WWE is continuing to waste Storm’s talent. Welcome to the main brand.
Segment 6
Reigns had Heyman tell Lesnar through the camera that he has no chance at Crown Jewel and Heyman did, saying it’s not a prediction, it’s a spoiler.
Segment 7
Queen’s Crown Tournament Round One – Carmella vs. Liv Morgan
This was another quick match Carmella won with a superkick.
Segment 8
Happy Talk with Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss was supposed to have the Street Profits on, but Kevin Owens ran out and Corbin and Moss beat him down.
Kinda strange the Profits didn’t come out to help and lead it into a tag team match, but then we guess faces don’t help each other much in the current WWE.
Sonya Deville told Naomi they will face each other next week in a match. Welcome back, Sonya!
Segment 9
King of the Ring Tournament Round One – Finn Balor vs. Cesaro
The match started off as a clinic on holds before Cesaro hit a tilt the whirl backbreaker and then sent Balor to the floor with a pop up forearm as we headed to commercial.
Segment 10
This was the match of the night to this point and Balor won the hard fought contest with a Cu-de-grace for the pin.
Segment 11
Rollins called out Edge and told him he can name the time, place, and stipulation. When Edge showed up, Rollins managed to escape, so Edge told him they’ll meet in a Hell in a Cell match.
This was a pretty cool ending a decent show overall, though it’d be nice to see the women have a match more than a handful of minutes.
