Last week during the WWE’s 8 day UK tour, Randy Orton and Riddle defended the Raw tag titles regularly, but on November 5 things took a strange turn and Orton saved a young fan at the Birmingham, England show.
It’s something we never expect to see or hear about with the thousands of show they perform each year, and when it does happen it’s horrifying.
In this instance, Orton was fist bumping fans alongside the ring when he noticed a young fan looked uncomfortable and asked if they were okay.
The fan was being squashed against the barricade, so he quickly set his title down and asked for the fans to back up to give the fan some space and air. He bent over in what looked like a way to help shield the fan or help them remain steady.
Another fan right next to them recorded the incident and uploaded it to their youtube.
When he was sure the fan was okay, he moved on, but still kept on eye on them.
Side we rarely see
This is a great glimpse into what makes the Viper tick as a person and reminds us that wrestling is just a show and they’re human just like everyone else.
It can be easy to forget at times when we get wrapped up in their characters, but this was something special as he didn’t hesitate to drop the belt and help the fan.
It’s a touching scene and is something that’s heartwarming
After this, it’ll be hard for many to ever see him as a heel again but it’s so worth it. Especially after the recent incident at a concert in the United States.
It’s something we hear about at various times, and hopefully we’ll hear more stories like what Orton did from the people performing that are right there and might see a fan in distress.
With everything going on in the world today, these types of stories are needed. They remind us it’s okay to help those we don’t know and going that extra step often isn’t as hard as it may seem.
In the end, we’d all like to be like Orton or another hero to someone and it can often be the simplest thing that makes someone’s day.
Do you have any stories like what happened with Orton or any type of moments where a gesture helped you or someone else? Let us know in the comments below. We’d love to hear your stories.
