Kelly Dodd, who was best known for being on ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’, has been slammed alongside her husband Rick Leventhal over their choice of Halloween costumes.

The pair had apparently dressed up as Native Americans in reference to the controversy surrounding Alec Baldwin and his prop gun incident on the set of ‘Rust.’
Given that this situation led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza, the pair’s choice of clothing was rather distasteful.
In a post to his fans on Instagram, Rick shared a picture of the two wearing Native American outfits. In their hands, they are holding a pistol as they blow over it as though it has just been fired.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “Kelly celebrated her Native American heritage & I celebrated the great American film actor Alec Baldwin #happyhalloween.”
The response on social media was one of mass condemnation. Fans naturally felt that this should not have been posted as it disrespects Halyna and her family, who were left in mourning.
Not only that but it would not have been welcomed by Alec, who has also been left traumatised by the incident. One user wrote: “Some people thrive off negativity, others positivity.
“Some inspire people to hate. Others inspire people to love. Some people aspire to be decent people and good examples to all. Others don’t aspire to be much,” while another stated: “Sorry but bad taste.”
Kelly did not care about what others had to say. After all, she does have a history of making controversial comments. Her comments, in part, were the reason why she is no longer on the housewives franchise.
She had infamously stated that Covid was ‘God’s way of thinning the herd.’ In response to the controversy, Kelly said: “2021 Halloween party highlights! For you haters, I embrace my Native American heritage.”
Regardless of what people think about Kelly, she will do what she thinks is best for her. Her actions have alienated many people, but that should not come as a surprise given her prior track record of saying controversial things.
