After last week’s Raw gave us pretty much the same for the first couple of hours, it finished strong and WWE Raw Preview have some hopes for this one.
We’re tempering that hope as we have a third championship match in what is possibly one of the least exciting feuds in the WWE.
Raw Women’s Championship – Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair
After a back and forth last week where they called each other entitled and Lynch told Belair to get to the back of the line and dropped the B word, Belair attacked her.
Lynch then gave her the rematch Belair wanted, and this is where they lost us. It’s fine for Belair to stand up for herself, but she came across as the entitled one in this bit.
She reminded us of Drew McIntyre when he refused to stop chasing after Bobby Lashley until Lashley finally beat him with a stipulation that he won’t be able to challenge him again.
That familiarity aside, we really hope this isn’t a rehashing of that storyline.
We do expect Lynch to win tonight as she’s still the top star even if she is a heel. Judging by the crowd reaction, people can’t bring themselves to boo her and that could lead to the two switching statuses at some point.
The Visionary has plans
There’s no doubt Seth Rollins has something up his sleeve to begin tormenting Big E, and we’re going to see it start tonight.
And since Rollins had to fight through a fatal four way ladder match to get a shot at the WWE Championship, he’s going to relish his games with Big E.
This will be a fun one simply because Rollins has really raised his game and we could also see a shift in Big E’s character after this feud.
While we don’t expect Big E to lose for a while yet, Rollins will push him away from his positivity and into his darker self.
It’ll be interesting to see what effect Rollins has on Big E, and if Big E can come back from the places he’s going to have to go.
There’s every chance this could be the top segment of the night, but with a solid roster we’ll definitely have some good matches to enjoy.
