Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
This should be a interesting night as we have a fatal 4 way to determine the final spot on the men’s Team Smackdown and Roman Reigns will be crowned as the ruler of the Island of Relevancy.
We’ll be back at the 8 p.m. EST showtime to get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling, so grab some snacks and buckle up.
Segment 1
The Usos introduced Roman Reigns, but Reigns refused the king’s accoutrements as he doesn’t need them. Xavier Woods came out and challenged him and claimed the crown and more don’t mean anything to him.
So the Bloodline destroyed everything and Woods attacked and was overwhelmed. He was held and forced to watch Reigns crush the crown.
Segment 2
Fatal 4 Way – Sheamus vs. Ricochet vs. Cesaro vs. Jinder Mahal
The winner of this match gets the final spot on Team Smackdown for Survivor Series.
An early alliance between Sheamus and Mahal didn’t last long, but Ricochet was the one to stand tall after taking everyone out with a spring board flip over the top rope as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
This was a fast paced match that ended earlier than we expected when Holland came out to distract Cesaro for Sheamus to hit a Brogue Kick for the win.
Segment 4
A cool piece on Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair‘s growing rivalry took up most of this segment. They’re really selling the breakup of their friendship.
Segment 5
Aliyah and Naomi vs. Natalya and Shayna Baszler
This lasted a minute or so as Baszler dropped Naomi for a pin by Natalya and a fast count by the ref ended it in near record time.
Segment 6
Jeff Hardy vs. Madcap Moss w/Happy Corbin
This was a quick one thanks to Drew McIntyre coming out to be in Jeff’s corner. Jeff Rolled up Moss for a pin and then McIntyre hit Corbin with a Claymore and Jeff his a senton bomb on Moss.
Segment 7
Shinsuke Nakamura w/Rick Boogs vs. Angel w/Humberto Carrillo
Another needlessly quick match saw Nakamura win with a Kinsasha. This should’ve gone 20 minutes at least.
Segment 8
Sasha Banks vs. Shotzi
Shotzi trapped Banks’ arm in the ring steps and stomped away, but Banks came back and hit a meteora off the apron as we headed to commercial.
Segment 9
This was a fun match that Shotzi came close to winning a few times, but Banks locked in a Bank Statement for the win.
Afterwards, they shook hands and Banks hit a Backstabber.
Segment 10
Xia Li was teased via a comic book type of promo, and Charlotte Flair agreed to give Toni Storm a match after Flair beats Lynch at Survivor Series.
Segment 11
Big E and Woods set a trap for Reigns as he headed to the ring. Big E took out the Usos and threw them down the ramp, then went after Reigns and he and Woods stomped away.
While Woods was busy with the Usos, Reigns hit a Superman Punch in Big E, then slipped out of a Big Ending when Big E countered a spear attempt.
Not a bad ending to the show, but it felt weak as they’ve ignored the brand separation since before the draft. Most of the matches felt like time eaters, but it makes sense since they’re setting up for Survivor Series.
