One of the best things under the WWE umbrella right now is the Xavier Woods hosted YouTube channel titled UpUpDownDown. It’s a gaming focused channel which allows superstars to kick back, show their true personalities, and enjoy some video games with their friends. Woods has put a lot of effort into this account, growing it to over 2 million subscribers, some who likely aren’t even viewers of the WWE product. However, lately things have slowed down- and the reason is that WWE isn’t actually paying for this extra effort.
The Creators Of UpUpDownDown Are Standing With Xavier Woods
This news broke yesterday, and the full situation now is starting to seem more clear. There has been behind the scenes issues with UpUpDowDown, with many of the creators standing with Xavier Woods – who is feeling like he’s been taken advantage of due to a bad deal with WWE. Therefore, no content will be produced until Woods gets a better deal for his extra work with UpUpDownDown.
Essentially – they have gone on strike, just so Woods can be better appreciated. This goes to show the amount of respect he’s built up in the locker room, and you don’t want to punch down on the locker room leaders like Woods. It has been noted from those close to the situation, that Woods has not seen even an extra dime from his extra work on the channel, which at the time of writing has close to 2.3 million subscribers.
The channel has only seen a sparse eight videos since October 1st, which is a dramatic decrease from it’s usual output. In total, videos on UpUpDownDown have brought in around 411,980,430 views – making it no slouch of a channel. All the same, Woods continues to give his all on WWE programming, where this Friday night he goes one on one with Roman Reigns. A battle between King of The Ring & The Tribal Chief sounds great on paper – but the result will likely not be a shock.
Do you think WWE should compensate Woods better for his work outside of the ring? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
