Jeff Hardy has proven himself to be one of the best wrestlers in history with his death defying antics and an ability to absorb a tremendous amount of punishment.
He’s also dealt with his fair share of demons that have led to him being released by the WWE once more when he refused to go to rehab.
It’s the second time this has happened to him, and while it was his choice it came at a time when the WWE had big plans for him.
Reigns open to feuding with him
It’s been reported that the WWE’s plans for Jeff included a feud with Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, and Reigns was reportedly open to the idea.
This would’ve been a fun rivalry as fans have been wanting and hoping for Jeff to get another shot at the title and possibly even another reign.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be following Jeff’s recent release, but it’s opened up other possibilities for him as he’ll be able to rejoin his brother in AEW or go elsewhere when his 90 day non-compete clause is over.
Confusing booking
Many believe Jeff’s recent push came following fan backlash when he was part of the 24/7 Championship chase for one week, which followed a less than stellar first match with Karrion Kross in Kross’ main roster debut.
Recently, Scarlet talked about that match and how it was originally supposed to go for 10 minutes but was cut down to 90 seconds. This destroyed Kross’ character and painted Jeff as a heel for cheating so early in the match to win.
It’s not the first time WWE has left fans scratching their heads, but to their credit, they gave Jeff a good push and put him in the United States Championship chase as well as have everyone praise him up and down for a couple of weeks afterwards.
The future is bright
Despite being released from the WWE, Jeff has a bright future ahead of him as he has other projects going and his brother Matt Hardy shared a tease of a possible tag team in AEW.
If nothing else, Jeff controls his own future and we’re sure it’s going to be as bright as anything else he’s done.
He has plenty of support from his family and fans, and we hope he’s able to move past this to fulfill even more of his dreams.
