The WWE has made it a habit to shut down over the holidays for a few years now so their talent can be with their families.
This means they pretaped some of their matches for the Christmas Eve Smackdown this past week’s episode went off the air.
There’s nothing wrong with it and they’re not the only company that pretapes their shows. It’s also great they allow their talent to spend time with their families.
With all of that being said, there are spoilers for some of their top matches and we’re going to share them below so close the window if you don’t want to see them.

Three matches have been leaked out from Smackdown tapings for the December 24 episode, and there’s nothing surprising about them.
The 12 Days of Christmas Gauntlet Match to determine Shinsuke Nakamura’s next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship was held.
The participants were Drew Gulak, Mansoor, Erik, Ivar, Shanky, Jinder Mahal, Sheamus, Cesaro, Angel, Humberto, and Sami Zayn.
With Nakamura joining the commentary team, Sami Zayn won the gauntlet match by finally eliminated Ricochet. He’ll face Nakamura at Day 1 for the Intercontinental Championship.

The next match is another with now surprises as Charlotte Flair defeated Toni Storm to retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
Finally, the New Day (Kofi Kingston, King Xavier) and Drew McIntyre defeated Madcap Moss and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight.
McIntyre secured the win with a Claymore on Moss for the pin.
More than spoilers
As we mentioned, nothing surprising with any of these matches but we’re sure they were good ones and we’re looking forward to seeing them even though they’ve been spoiled.
Of course, there’s always a chance these matches could be reshot between now and next week, but we doubt the WWE will go so that far. They haven’t yet.
This isn’t a new thing with the WWE, though they have changed upcoming cards like rehearsal footage of Lita appearing at the Royal Rumble because fans released an image of her coming down the ramp.
But like with most of their headaches, that one WWE did to themselves by pulling her from the event as it let down tons of fans because they wanted to be “surprising” and “shocking”.
