Remember back in 2004 when Britney Spears married Jason Alexander? It was a Las Vegas wedding and speedrun marriage that lasted a little over two days. Then Spears’ high school sweetheart disappeared from relevance just as quickly as he appeared.
Now it has been reported that Jason Alexander (40) was arrested in Franklin, Tennessee on December 30. Alexander was charged with violating a protection order and aggravated stalking.
Life After Britney Spears and Arrest
For the most part, Alexander had stayed out of the public eye following his annulment from Britney Spears. He would resurface here and there when news of a domestic violence or minor drug charge incident popped up.
Jason Alexander would also pop up to discuss the details of their quickie wedding and the involvement of the Spears’ family in their relationship. In a July 2021 interview with the DailyMail, he would discuss being tricked by Lynn Spears into signing the annulment:
“We were told that if we still felt the same way about each other in six months, then we could have a big, white wedding. They strung me along for 30 days, which was how long it took to get the annulment finalized, so I couldn’t contest it, and then they changed Britney’s number so I couldn’t talk to her. There have always been dark forces in her life.”
He would also appear at a #FreeBritney protest that year. In late August 2021, he was arrested in Nashville for a security violation and received a misdemeanor charge.
As for this arrest, the specifics haven’t been mentioned such as who filed the restraint order and if it ties back to his previous domestic abuse charge. What is known is that Alexander was able to leave Williamson County Jail on January 4 after posting his $30,000 bail.
Alexander was booked into the Williamson County Jail and was released in the afternoon of January 4, an official at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
