‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers here and we’re set to dive into some relationship problems with some spoilery goodies.
When we make bad decisions they often come back to roost, and it looks like we’re in the beginning stages of the sprouting results from a host of bad decisions.
And we have the feeling we’re supposed to feel sorry for those that mad the bad decisions to get to this point.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Tuesday, January 11: Abby’s frustration grows
As we mentioned above, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) is a good person, but she had a time where she needed a lot of support and help mentally.
The support came in the form of enablers, and she decided the only way to be a good wife to Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) was to have a baby with a surrogate father and mother.
This led to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) donating his sperm, and now Dominic is his biological son that he wants to spend more time with.
We don’t blame Abby as she needed help, but those around her that thought this was a good idea instead of getting her some help to balance things.
And now Chance is back and needs help with his survivor’s guilt and PTSD among other things, so those are being ignored and Abby and everyone’s concern is how he’s adjusting to fatherhood to a child that isn’t his.
That’s a lot to take in, and it’s not going to end well. Devon will see to that.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Tuesday, January 11: Devon’s backing
Devon made it clear he intends to legally pursue getting more parental rights and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is going to support his decision every step of the way.
Amanda’s proven herself to be an exemplary character and it’s good she wants to support Devon, but this could be a bit much. She may ask him if he’s sure about this and doesn’t want to pump the breaks but we doubt he’ll do so.
He has a parent’s bond with the child. That’s hard to break and he has no intention of breaking it.
The problem here, beyond the writing team wasting a year on this storyline, is that he and so many others are handling this so badly.
While he may not be Dominic’s legal guardian, he it the child’s biological father and that’s going to create a huge mess and push Chance further into himself.
Of course, the writers may take the easy way out and Devon will see the harm he’s causing and back off.
At this point, we’re just waiting to see how far things are going to get pushed before someone says a magical word to settle things.
How long do you think before Chance can’t handle it anymore? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
