Actor Ray Fisher has hit back at director Joss Whedon after the latter responded to accusations that he was engaging in inappropriate behaviour on the set of the ‘Justice League’ movie.
Actor Ray Fisher Slams Director Joss Whedon For ‘The Lies And Buffoonery’
Ray Fisher and Gal Gadot had spoken on how they were subjected to unsavoury behaviour on the set during their time filming. The former claimed that Joss was engaging in “gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable” behaviour.
While the latter stated that the director had threatened to end her career. Joss denied doing anything of the sort and suggested that it was all part of the inadequate acting that he was unhappy with.
Rather than engaging in a back-and-forth with him, Ray decided to be the bigger person by continuing to stand by his beliefs and move on with his life.
In a post to his followers on Twitter, Ray Fisher said: “Rather than address all of the lies and buffoonery today — I will be celebrating the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Tomorrow the work continues. #MLKDay A>E.”
Those were not the only comments that Ray made. He also implied that Joss was not being honest by virtue of the fact that he had not addressed this issue for so long.
Therefore, anything that he said had to be interpreted in light of the fact that he had a long time to get his story in place. Thus, it demonstrated that Joss was looking for a way out rather than expressing remorse for what he had done.
In another social media post, Ray remarked: “Joss Whedon had nearly two years to get his story straight. He’s likely spent tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of dollars on PR, crisis management, and coaching.
“And his response to the allegations is: “They all misunderstood and/or are out to get me—also my mom is sexy.” Once again, this story raises huge concerns about power and influence that directors have at the top level of Hollywood.
But if more actors continue to speak out against any inhumane treatment, then that is the only way to prevent things like this from occurring once and for all. Joss Whedon, on his part, has described Ray Fisher as a ‘malevolent force’ and a ‘bad actor in both senses of the term.’
