Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Defends Joe Rogan Following His Spotify Controversy - 'Look Forward To Coming On One Day'

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has come out and backed Joe Rogan after the podcast host had been coming under heavy criticism for allegedly spreading misinformation surrounding Covid-19.

Dwayne Johnson Defends Joe Rogan Following His Spotify Controversy-‘Look Forward To Coming On One Day’

The claims being made around Joe have resulted in several high-profile musicians including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell demanding that Spotify remove their music from their platform as a protest.

Although Joe came out and apologized by stating that he would try to have a more orthodox view on Covid, the very fact of the matter is that he has not stopped other artists from doing the same.

Just recently, Graham Nash and India Arie had also decided to remove their music. And yet, Dwayne Johnson felt that Joe was being sincere when he made his apology.

In an official statement, Dwayne said: “Great stuff here brother. Perfectly articulated. Look forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”

This is precisely the kind of thing that Joe Rogan needs, support for a mega star like The Rock, especially since there was a danger that a significant proportion of high-profile celebrities would not attend his show by virtue of the negative perception that their careers could have by associating with him.

But given that Joe had stressed that he would try to have a more impartial framework of reporting, that explains why Dwayne may be open to appearing on the show.

After all, there is still a possibility that Joe Rogan could get cancelled unless his views changed dramatically or if he is removed from Spotify regardless.

In his statement in response at the time, Joe expressed a willingness to reform his views. He stated: “I’m going to do my best, in the future, to balance things out.

“I’m going to do my best. But my point of doing this, always, is just to create interesting conversations and ones that I hope people enjoy.”

It is ultimately a double-edged sword, as one of the reasons why Joe Rogan was so successful was that he gave an alternative to the mainstream media. And if he does change his approach, then there is no guarantee that his show will be just as successful.
