Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett Promises Greatest Entrance the UFC Has Ever Seen

Paddy 'The Baddy' Pimblett Promises Greatest Entrance the UFC Has Ever Seen

UFC newcomer Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett is promising yet another memorable appearance when he sets foot in the Octagon at UFC London this March. He will make only his second appearance in the UFC, but Pimblett believes that his walk out and an early finish will be among the greatest – if not the greatest – in UFC history.

He told The Daily Mail that the UFC won’t know what hit it when he enters the arena before a home crowd. “A fight is a fight for me, lad. It doesn’t matter where it is at the end of the day. Obviously it is going to be great when I walk out, because Vargas is never going to have been in an atmosphere like that.

Paddy The Baddy Promises “Greatest Entrance the UFC Has Ever Seen”

He’s going to be like “What is going on here, this is a festival”, this is like a festival with everyone screaming his name, that’s going to get to him. That’ll happen wherever I fight now when there’s a crowd.

It’s going to be the greatest entrance the UFC has ever seen and it isn’t even a title fight or contender fight. People will be talking about this entrance for the next 10-20 years.”

Last time Paddy Pimblett fought, he delivered one of the strongest UFC debuts in living memory, knocking opponent Luigi Vendramini out in the first round. Pimblett is unimpressed by the technical ability of his next opponent, and doesn’t think he’s much of a threat.

‘I’ve watched some of Vargas, he’s not that technical, more about strength and a brawler. He’s fought at welterweight in the past so he’s going to be strong.

‘Now he’s at lightweight, everything is just strength based with him. On the feet, I’ll beat him up, on the ground I’ll school him even worse.

‘Wherever the fight goes, I’m ready, I’m planning on just beating him up nice and early, I’m not planning on taking a punch in this fight.’

He expects another early finish this time, but told UFC Unfiltered that he’ll consider calling on his flashy signature grappling. “It’s definitely gonna be a first-round finish.

I can’t see him lasting any more than five minutes with me to be honest. Even though he’s got good heart, he’s got a good chin, he’s resolute, but I showcased my striking in the last fight.

I might have to showcase my grappling in this one. I’m going with a first-round submission or a first-round TKO off ground and pound.” Can Paddy Pimblett’s hands cash the checks his mouth is writing? Let us know in the comments.
