With Impact Wrestling making plenty of signings lately it’s easy to lose track of those leaving the company, and after Rohit Raju’s contract ended a month or two ago, now it’s Jake Something’s turn.
Jake has had a good career in Impact as went from being Cousin Jake as part of the Deaners to Jake Something following Cody’s heel turn.
Jake Something is a name he goes by in other promotions so it was a smooth transition for him and he began to come into his own as a physical presence and received a push to become the X-Division Champion at Sacrifice.
Jake broke the news on Twitter on March 7 by saying: “Thank you to @IMPACTWRESTLING and @ScottDAmore for taking the chance on me, and helping me learn and grow so much. Much love to the entire locker room, a true family.”

Free Agent
The 32 year old Jake’s contract ended at the end of February, but he remained to work Sacrifice to challenge Trey Miguel for the X-Division Championship to close out his storyline and run with a really good match.
It’s been reported that the split was amicable between him and Impact, and he is welcome to return in the future.
He started working with Impact Wrestling in 2017 and joined The Deaners as a full time partner in 2018. He transitioned into singles competition in 2020 after Cody Deaner joined Violent By Design.
Wide open
While Jake is mainly known for his work in Impact Wrestling, his start came in 2010 and he was trained in the ROH Dojo, putting him in a long list of a lot of top stars ROH helped produce over the years.
He has plenty of options, including touring the Indie scene even more where he’s had some great matches with Rohit Raju and others in AAW Pro, so it won’t surprise us if they continue their feud or even become a tag team.
He’s going to be missed in Impact, and we hope to see him return at some point to add a new chapter to his career.
He pointed out on Twitter that he’s just getting started, and we expect to great things from him in the future. He really came into his own by the end of his run in Impact, and we see no reason that can’t continue.
