For the past few months, the status of Cody Rhodes has been an extremely hot topic. Having been with All Elite Wrestling since the company’s inception, and holding the role of EVP – no one ever expected him to leave. However, once his contract was up – a new deal couldn’t be made. There has been many reasons given, namely Rhodes losing booking powers.
Cody Rhodes Is At Wrestlemania And Ready To Go
However, there seemed to be a clear path for Rhodes. He started his career in WWE, and that will also be his next step. News broke a few weeks back that Rhodes had signed a new contract with WWE – and the rumour mill started to run wild. At the same time, Seth Rollins was left without an opponent for Wrestlemania.
Now, less than a few hours out from the start of the show – we seem to have proof that Cody Rhodes will be the opponent of Seth Rollins. An insider on reddit, known simply as kerrmit125 would drop the following message.
“Adrenaline in my soul He’s here and ready to show. You’re welcome.”
Lending this user credibility is them correctly naming Hall of Fame entrants with Sharmell & Shad. While Shad taking the Warrior Award was something people were clamouring form, Sharmell was someone that few assumed would ever get into the Hall of Fame. The same user also placed Stone Cold Steve Austin & Kevin Owens as the show closers for night one of Wrestlemania 38.
Potential For His AEW Theme Song To Follow Him
While Cody Rhodes has some great theme songs in the WWE catalogue, there is a good chance that Kingdom by Downstrait will follow him to WWE. Rhodes owns the rights to this song, and used it prior to joining AEW. Only the intro was added for AEW, and that is something WWE can easily replicate on their own.
Rhodes showing up to wrestle Seth Rollins will give a fantastic match for fans to look forward too. It will join the likes of Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey, and more on tonights card.
