Since the start of All Elite Wrestling three years ago, fans have seen many names leave WWE to join their roster. The likes of Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Keith Lee, Adam Cole, and Toni Storm are just a few that found a new home in AEW. However, finally a big name from AEW has made their way to WWE – with Cody Rhodes returning after six years away.
Rhodes Feels Others Will Find Their Way Back To WWE
While speaking to Ariel Helwani of BT Sport, Cody would be asked about if he will speak to other AEW stars about jumping ship to WWE. Rhodes had the following to say.
“I would only give somebody honest advice. That might be right for somebody. This was right for me. I don’t know when the first…I think I know who those people will be because there are certain people who fit this ‘superstar mode,’ I think I know how the types might be and when they ask, I’m going to give them the best advice I possibly can.
He’d continue with the following.
“When they start coming and talking, I’m sure people will make the transition. You’ll probably guess some of the people who will come over and, undoubtedly, people like Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole, people will make that move there. It is a healthy thing.”
Treating Cody Rhodes Like A Star Is Essential To Win Over Others
Regardless of your thoughts on Cody Rhodes as a wrestler, there is a pretty well accepted truth with his return to WWE. That is that WWE can’t afford to mess this up. AEW talent will be watching closely, and if they see someone like Rhodes be mistreated within WWE – it will kill the prospect of others leaving AEW for WWE.
Having Rhodes come in with his AEW theme and defeating Seth Rollins in what many consider to be one of the best matches of the weekend is an amazing start. The real work starts on Monday Night RAW however, and once the honeymoon period is over we will truly see how WWE values Rhodes.
