We are all aware of the mutual relationship that Jorge Gamebred Masvidal and Colby Chaos Covington have. What we can say is that it is not a pleasant one. It is a long-time beef between these two that escalated to the next level past month.
Allegedly, after the press conference where Colby insulted Masvidal’s family, Masvidal took the matter into his hands and tried to resolve the issue with his fists.
Colby Covington Suffers Brain Injury From Masvidal Scandal
The problem is that he decided to do so outside the octagon. He attacked Colby in front of a Miami restaurant and caused more financial than physical damage to his ‘fellow’ colleague. In the attack, he allegedly destroyed Colby’s $90k watch and some inventory of the restaurant.
Weeks after the fight, information comes out that the watch is not the only thing that got damaged during the attack.
The court files are sharing evidence that during the fight, Colby suffered head trauma as well and has a brain injury as a result. He receives a broken tooth and several bruises on his body as well.
Masvidal shouted to him before he landed the shots to his face and body. “You shouldn’t have been talking about my family. They are my kids you were speaking about!”
After receiving the beatings, Covington rushed back to the restaurant and did not come out until the situation was calmed down.
As a defense for his running away, Colby said that he saw several more people, who actually were together with Masvidal running towards him. When he saw this, he backed up in order to avoid making a greater incident and provoking more violence.
Now, we are not supporting violence outside the octagon. Not at all. However, this seems a bit exaggerated by Colby Covington. Or should I say much exaggerated?
I mean, you fight in a cage for years and you do not suffer any head trauma. You receive a knockout by Kamaru Usman with consecutive hard blows to your head and not have any major complications, other than bruises that will heal in three or four days. However, now all of a sudden you are becoming tender and fragile and get head trauma after one shot to your head?
This smells funny to me. Smells like exaggerating the situation and like extortion from Masvidal. One this is sure. To Colby Covington, it smells like money now. It seems that he will be able to extort a great deal of money from Masvidal. All cards are in his hands and he is taught by someone how to play them.
He plays them right for now, finance-wise, but coupled with that he becomes one enormous cry-baby.
Once again, we are not supporting violence outside the octagon. However, Colby likes to talk shit and act tough at the press conferences, he better learn how to live with it. Even if it means receiving several fists to his head.
