You look at a man and you already have this mental picture of him in your head consisting of his visual presence as well as his character, attitude, nature, and authority level.
When you look at Khamzat Chimaev, you see somebody that you know you need to take seriously. His eyes are humble but fearless, his face with a smile but scarred, his body relaxed yet ready to attack.
Khamzat Chimaev’s Psychopathic Mindset. What Is Hiding Behind His Determination And Will?
You have this divided opinion in your head on whether he is friendly or not, however, you are sure of one thing – the guy is a predator.
He has great Jiu-Jitsu skills, strong wrestling, and the determination and will of a true psychopath who has only one thing on his mind. In this case that one thing is the UFC belt. It is as simple as that, he is a psychopath, but that’s what we love to see in the octagon!
When in the octagon, it can be noticed that he finishes a fight no matter what because he is very aggressive. He doesn’t wait, he doesn’t play, he doesn’t feel out the range – he just goes after you like he’s a dog that was just held on a leash.
If we take a deeper dive into the mindset and roots of the fastest rising star in the UFC, Khamzat Chimaev we can clearly see the strength of his will to be the best. We can see the background and the roots of where this determination comes from.
It is said, tough countries make tough men. And what country can be a greater example of this if not Chechnya?
“The traditional sport in my village is wrestling. If you don’t do wrestling as a kid it’s kind of lame. We joke with the guys who don’t come to training, we say to them like you’re a girl, you know. You have to train wrestling, you have to be tough.” – says Khamzat in one interview.
Just thinking of this as a thing that is being embedded in your mind – a need to be tough, a need to be physically strong in order to ‘succeed’ brings chills through your body. Well, this was everyday life for someone. This is everyday life for the people of Chechnya. And it was everyday life for Khamzat Chimaev.
“I just think about this belt. How to take this belt. Being the number one pound for pound fighter. I am a wolf, brother. So hungry! I’m going to eat everybody. War, that’s what I want, and I like feeling bad in the fight. I have ten fights, but all fights I win so easily. I want to see some war with someone.” – Khamzat added.
While most of us seat in our cozy chairs in our homes and feel great there, some people are made of pure determination and even find satisfaction in bizarre things like feeling suppressed in combat.
There are many newcomer fighters in the promotion all the time. Rarely happens that someone has the will and potential that Khamzat has.
When you look at him you notice he’s got a problem with his lip, it’s the first thing that catches your eye. And to be honest it looks really badass. After this when you take in consideration the whole look – the beard, and the shaved head – he looks like someone you do not want to meet down a dark alley.
“Every morning before work I do out running, I see the houses, a nice house there, a big house there, nice apartments, and I feel bad for my mother. She doesn’t speak Swedish and she doesn’t have many friends. I always keep on thinking about how I was gonna get this money and do something for my mother, and if she’ll gonna be happy, you know? Now, after my success, I can buy something for my mother and she can do whatever she wants to.” – he shockingly stated.
Part of his determination is so deep due to the fact that all these years he watched his mother and his family struggle. He watched them in poverty and without basic needs. It bothered him so much, that he decided to take the matter into his hands and do something about it. And what did he know best? He knew how to fight.
Now, after he proved himself to the UFC and gained many fans worldwide, his future is bright. He finally has the money that he needed to help his family get out of poverty.
The public is eager to watch his next fights. He can easily be a champ in two weight classes,170 lbs, and 185lbs. He might be able to defeat Kamaru Usman, as well as Israel Adesanya.
“I can’t wait to see that motherfucker fight. He’s got it, whatever that thing is he’s got it.” – Joe Rogan
Support is coming from all sides. Nobody wants to see only regular fighters in the octagon. Everybody wants to see a sanity-border lunatics who bring everything they have in the octagon.
When fighters like Khamzat Chimaev enter the octagon they leave all their everyday problems, all their weight outside the door, and focus on one thing only. They focus on not only winning but completely destroying their opponents. They are not only thirsty for a win, they are thirsty for blood.
“I don’t know why but I just want to see him fight. This motherfucker sounds like he is in gladiators and shit.” – Snoop Dogg
This seems like an on-point comment coming from the Dogg. Khamzat is a modern-day gladiator. That might be indeed the correct way to put it. After all this, we are left with one question on our minds. Will he succeed and become a champion?
