With all the confidence of a man who just appeared at Wrestlemania, YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul has called out one of the UFC’s hottest prospects to take on the world of MMA. Logan Paul told The MMA Hour that he wants a piece of Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett, a rising star in the UFC lightweight division.
“I’d like a run at it. I’d like a win in some sort of a fighting, combat sport. I think I’d be good at it, too. But then again, bro, I’m like, okay, do I f****** go and get my head kicked in or wrestle and have so much more fun.
Logan Paul Calls Out Paddy the Baddy for MMA Fight
My friends, before the Wrestlemania match, they’re like, ‘Hey, good luck!’ and I’m like, ‘Enjoy the show!’ Before a boxing match it’s like, ‘I love you, brother. You can do anything you want.’
They’re praying for me backstage, my heart’s pounding. It’s a f****** headache! It’s crazy, the difference between a boxing event and a wrestling event, so I don’t know, bro. But I found out who I’d like to fight if I did a UFC match: Paddy the Baddy.”
Logan Paul’s combat sports career has thus far been off to a dismal start. Like his brother Jake, he’s more inclined to fight retirees and men two weight divisions down from him. Paddy Pimblett is no exception: while Logan Paul towers at over six feet tall and well over 200 pounds, The Baddy is a comparatively diminutive 5’10”, competing in the UFC’s 155-pound lightweight division.
Logan Paul believes the pair could meet at middleweight – 185. “They’re saying he’s possibly the next Conor McGregor, right?
He’s super charismatic, he’s entertaining as hell, he’s on the come up, he’s young like me, he’s got a real loud mouth. I just like the way he can perform. I think also, in the off season, he can come up like 25 pounds.
The kid blows up in the off season, I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s like someone put a pump in him and [blows him up]. So he can get up to 185 and I can get down to 185 and possibly do a UFC match.”
Paddy Pimblett would be the first to point out that his ballooning weight gain outside of fight camp is a far cry from the dense, tough muscle you see on UFC middleweights. Pimblett’s boundless appetite causes him to supersize into “Paddy the Fatty,” the Scouse star’s overweight alter ego.
Do you think Paddy Pimblett should fight Logan Paul? Let us know in the comments.
