Logan Paul has appeared in the WWE for the last two WrestleManias, and it’s been leaked/rumored that Vince McMahon likes him and wants him in the WWE.
It’s not surprising as Paul received high praise from fans and critics as he’s put in a lot of work and has boxed, including an exhibition fight against Floyd Mayweather.
But it’s what he did in the ring at WrestleMania 38 that has people talking and he’s earned every bit of the praise he’s gotten.
Leaving a mark
There’s another side to his foray onto the Grandest Stage of Them All, and he talked about it on a recent Impaulsive podcast we shared above.
“It is electric. When there is someone you love in that ring and doing those moves…by the way, I didn’t practice any of those moves.
“That surface is hard, it is not bouncy, it is not a trampoline, there is no give. It is plywood, it’s wood.
“‘Wrestling is fake.’ Shut the f**k up, I am sore. The left side of my body kills me right now. Those are real slams, they hurt.
“In practice even, doing those moves, you’re going to compromise your body ahead of the match.”
Saying wrestling is fake is a quick and easy way for someone to mock the sport, and while it is scripted and predetermined, the bumps they take are real.
Of course, this is almost perfect timing since it’s been reported that Vince McMahon wants him in the WWE, and it looks like Paul will be an ardent defender of the company and product.
Will he join?
Of course, Paul is still young at 27 years old, so he has plenty of time to decide if he wants to join the WWE or not.
He’s shown he’s not afraid of physical challenges, but knowing what he’s in for every day may be a bit much for him to buy into.
It takes a special type to want to be a wrestler with the long hours of travel, the physicality, and other challenges.
If Paul is up to it and wants to give it more of a full time shot, we wish him the best. More likely, we think he’ll remain a special occasion guest.
What do you think Paul will do if he’s offered a WWE contract? Would you like to see him wrestle more, or be more of a manager/backstage talent? Let us know in the comments below.
