The universe abides by several inalienable rules. What goes up must come down. Noise cannot travel in a vacuum. Don’t mess with Mike Tyson.
One airline passenger missed the memo on that last one, as video reveals him pestering Tyson from the seat behind him on a crowded flight. Within moments, the 55-year-old retired heavyweight champ absolutely blasted the man, showering him with punches.
Mike Tyson Punches Man on Plane, Fighters React
One witness claimed that Tyson was initially friendly and amiable to start with, but the man behind him refused to stop bothering him. Apparently, Tyson told the passenger to calm down before exploding into action and punching the man repeatedly in the head.
Tyson then exited the plane, and the end of the video reveals the man bleeding on his face. Mike Tyson has not been arrested, nor is he currently facing charges over the incident.
Predictably, the combat sports world was quick to react, with several fighters and personalities praising Tyson for his reaction and condemning the man behind him for annoying the retired fighter.
Thiago Moises blames society: “the problem is that Nowadays people think they can do everything without getting punched in the face. What do you guys think ?”
Josh Barnett echoed the sentiment: “This is the saddest thing about this whole incident by far.
The uber-legalistic society creates people that do any & everything “within the law” to harass/attack knowing they haven’t broken the law & your only recourse is more law & legalese when they should be smacked.”
Barnett continued: “Just a light thrashing for being an absolutely disrespectful & annoying prick. Tyson could have really hurt him bad if he had intended to.
But hopefully this guy will rethink how he acts to others & in public. In my opinion, this is the simplest & best outcome. Act right.”
UFC middleweight Kelvin Gastelum described Mike Tyson as “an extremely calm person these days”. “Drunk, annoying and rude.
Pls don’t be like this guy folks. I’ve been around Mike and he’s an extremely calm person these days. This guy must’ve really brought it out of him.”
Referee Marc Goddard also placed fault squarely with the man annoying Tyson in reaction to a Tweet condemning Iron Mike:
“Oh really? In what world do you live? Im not condoning & im not condemning. But I think you’ll find that’s EXACTLY how society “can” work and it might be a darn better place for it. Act a disregarding disrespectful fool & you “may” face a differing consequence than a stern word!”
