One of the best moments from Wrestlemania 38 came during the open challenger of Seth Rollins. He would be faced with the retuning Cody Rhodes, in what resulted in perhaps the best match of the weekend for WWE. It was in the middle of Wrestlemania Saturday, a show which many fans agree was just long enough to not drag on. Seth Rollins would agree with this stance, having recently spoken about some WWE shows simply being too long.
Seth Rollins Thinks Wrestlemania Should Go Four Hours, RAW Is Too Long
While speaking on the Sports Illustrated podcast, Rollins would be asked for this thoughts on the length of Wrestlemania. Prior to WWE going two nights, Wrestlemania could often be described as an endurance test – with shows going towards nine hours counting the preshow. Rollins had the following to say on this topic.
“I think seven hours is just too long. You know, I think WrestleMania four hours of WrestleMania is solid. That’s a solid number once a year, four hours, I can live with that. Seven hours? I don’t know, pick your poison.”
Since going to two nights, WWE has instead run two four hour Wrestlemania’s, which they seem to enjoy – announcing Wrestlemania 39 as being a two night event. However, Rollins also has an issue with the length of Monday Night RAW, and would say the following.
“I think a three hour show is just obnoxiously long every week. Everything gets stretched out, you know, and you’ve got to cram — you got to fill three hours of television, there’s just nothing to be done. You know, that’s just how it is. So I think two hours is a beautiful kind of number for a pro wrestling show. And I think it’s easier to make everything mean a little bit more.”
Even Vince McMahon himself has said that he’d prefer Monday Night RAW to be a shorter show, but simply gets too much money from the USA Network for running a three hour show every Monday.
