At NXT Stand & Deliver, Tommaso Ciampa had his last stand as part of the NXT roster. Long considered one of the pillars of the brand, it was time for him to take a step away – and had one final match with Tony D’Angelo. Ciampa would take the loss on this night, and afterwards, had a chance to soak in the NXT crowd for one last time. However another surprise would come, as Triple H himself would come out to send Ciampa off from the brand.
Triple H Was A Surprise To Ciampa
While speaking to BT Sport – Ciampa would have a chance to reflect on his send-off from the NXT brand. He had no idea what was planned to happen following his match with Tony D’Angelo.
““Yeah, it was totally a surprise. I guess I will say, I’m easy to surprise, just in the sense I don’t – I’m very in the moment. I’m very now. I don’t think much ahead. So when the director told me — the direction I was given was, ‘After the match ends, Tony will leave, and we’re gonna give you about 30 seconds to stand and let the crowd applaud or whatever. But listen, there’s gonna be a Peacock commercial after. So you have about two minutes. So, just take your time. But when the ref says go, go.’ I put no thought into that.”
Tommaso Ciampa Has Now Been Moved To Monday Night RAW
Since then, Tommaso Ciampa has been officially moved to the roster of Monday Night RAW. He’s yet to return to the ring following his loss to Tony D’Angelo, but is rumored to be a member of the new faction being formed by WWE Hall of Famer – Edge. Damien Priest has already joined Edge, with Ciampa & Rhea Ripley as future members.
Fans are hoping that Ciampa is able to shine on the WWE main roster. He’s been one of the biggest names in NXT history over the past few years, and has been able to build a global fanbase.
