Cameron Grimes put a lot of pressure on himself going into NXT Stand & Deliver, but was able to come out with a big victory in the five man ladder match. Finally, he claimed the NXT North American Championship. Tonight, he has a chance to celebrate – and perhaps find out who his first challenger is.
Cameron Grimes Has Finally Achieved His Golden Dreams
After a recap of the chaos that was the Fatal Five Way ladder match, Cameron Grimes would be showered with chants of ‘You deserve it.’ Grimes said that he made good on his promise, and knows that his late father is smiling ear to ear – cuz his boy did it.
At Stand & Deliver, Grimes climbed the ladder to success. When he was on top of that ladder holding the belt, time stood still. He saw memories of his father giving blood, sweat and tears for this moment – raising a child as a single father, and now Cameron Grimes is the NXT North American Champion.
However, he’s not going to get complacent. He’s doing everything in his power to make sure this reign is one to remember. The music of Solo Sikoa would hit, one of the men who was in the Fatal Five Way match as well. He wants the first shot, as a champion needs a challenger. Grimes respects Sikoa, and will gladly give him his shot.
Duke Hudson Clashes With Dexter Lumis
Duke Hudson & Dexter Lumis have been thrust into a competition by Persia Pirotta & Indi Hartwell over who is the hottest couple. In the end, InDex would win over Dusia with 89% voting InDex on the fan vote. However tonight, they will clash in the ring – and prove who the better wrestler is.
Right off the bell, Hudson would level Lumis with a right hand to the jaw. Lumis would shoot back with a Thesz press, before some falling axe handle smashes. Hudson was able to nail the Uranage in the corner, but would take his time with the follow up.
Some quick stomps would land, before Hudson applied a chinlock. Lumis would counter out with a Belly to Back suplex, before springing to his feet and right into a leg drop. A lariat into the bulldog would land, before a spinebuster got Lumis a near fall. Both ladies would get involved in a tug of war on the outside, resulting in a double count out.
