Fans were left underwhelmed with how Wrestlemania 38 ended. Despite two nights full of great moments, Roman Reigns defeating Brock Lesnar in a let down of a match would close things out on a low note. The match was hyped up as the biggest match in Wrestlemania history, and didn’t deliver. Now, the producer behind this match – Pat Buckridge, has left the company.
Pat Buck Leaves WWE Following Wrestlemania 38
This news was confirmed by PWInsider.com, who also confirmed that Pat Buck would also produce the match between Ronda Rousey & Charlotte. Flair. Buck is believed to have left WWE due to achieving his goal of being able to produce main events for the biggest show of the year.
With a new child at home, Buck felt he needed to refocus his energies at home. He reached his peak in the company, and it was simply time to move on.
Buck signed with the company in 2019, and was furloughed during the COVID-19 pandemic- but ultimately rehired. Considering both Reigns vs. Lesnar & Rousey vs. Flair were both blasted by fans and critics – there is a chance that there was some heat on Buck for putting these matches together.
Not Just A Producer For WWE – Buck Often Was The Link Between WWE & Indy Companies
Producing was not his only job in WWE, having also worked in talent relations and working as a liaison between WWE and indy companies to bring in extras for PPV and TV. Buck also helps to run the Create-A-Pro Wrestling school alongside Brian Meyers.
He remains one of the head trainers at this school, which has produced the likes of MJF, Alex Reynolds, Kris Statlander, and more. This opens a door for him to find a job in All Elite Wrestling potentially, should he look for one.
