Hello and welcome to WWE Raw Live Results!
Tonight looks like it’s going to be an interesting one with a double commitment ceremony, the Women’s Tag Team Championship up for grabs, and Theory challenging Finn Balor for the United States Championship.
Oh, and Kevin Owens wants to give Ezekiel a lie detector test.
We’ll be back for the fun and games at 8 p.m. EST and kick WWE Raw Live Results into action.
Segment 1
Seth Rollins called out Cody Rhodes and challenged him to a match with an opponent of Rollins’ choosing. Cody accepted to the fans’ delight.
Segment 2
Women’s Tag Team Championship – Naomi and Sasha Banks (c) vs. Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan
The action started fast and the champions took it to the floor, but Ripley caught Banks’ cross body attempt, hit Naomi with her, and hit a riptide on the barricade as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
Ripley came close to wining it, but Liv couldn’t keep Banks from saving the pin and then a double team ended with Ripley being pinned.
Afterwards, Ripley attacked Liv and hit a Riptide. This was no surprise after the last two weeks as Ripley was upset at losing and it followed how Ripley and Nikki ASH broke up.
Segment 4
Sonya Deville explained her actions last week as she’s a competitor and she wants to face the best, so she challenged and attacked Belair.
Belair came out and Deville said they’ll have their match next week in Belair’s hometown. Belair went for a KOD and Deville threatened to fine her, so Belair dropped her and left the ring.
Segment 5
Veer vs. Jeff Brooks
This was a quick squash as Veer made Brooks submit and then locked on a Cervical Clutch a couple of times after the match.
Segment 6
On the KO Show, Ezekiel passed the lie detector with flying colors and left Owens flustered. Chad Gable attacked Ezekiel from behind as they have a match next.
Segment 7
This was a good one as Ezekiel used a different move set than we’re used to seeing Elias use, but his win was cut short when Otis attacked him from behind for the DQ when he had a submission hold locked in on Gable.
Segment 8
RK-Bro (Randy Orton, Riddle) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins, Montez Ford)
This one started out solid with Orton and Dawkins, and Riddle hit a Spanish Fly off the top rope on Ford as we headed to commercial.
Segment 9
Orton and Riddle took over, and Ford started waving for someone to come out and the Uso’s music played. The Profits then ambushed Orton and Riddle before hitting a neckbreaker from an electric chair for the win.
The Street Profits took full credit for cuing up the Uso’s music to remind RK-Bro there’s more than the Usos to worry about.
Guess there’s going to be a Triple Threat at Backlash since the Usos beat the Profits last week.
Segment 10
United States Championship – Finn Balor (c) vs. Theory
This started off as a slow burn with a series of wear down holds before Theory used his speed to trip Balor and hit a neckbreaker off the apron to the floor as we headed to commercial.
Segment 11
This was a great back and forth Theory won after avoiding the Coup de Grace to become the new United States Championship.
The midcard heels came out and hoisted him on their shoulders, and Vince McMahon came out for a selfie and to congratulate Theory.
Segment 12
The Double Commitment Ceremony was awesome as R-Truth and Tamina took it over in hilarious fashion and the 24/7 title made the rounds until Dana Brooke recaptured it and Truth carried her to the back.
Segment 13
The match started out with them trading holds. Owens countered Cody’s drop down punch, then hit a fallaway slam into the barricade as we headed to commercial.
Segment 14
Owens worked over Cody’s back, but Cody regained the advantage after getting his knees up to counter a senton, then tackled Owens over the announce desk. Rollins them came out to watch as we headed to commercial.
Segment 15
This was a great match that went back and forth but it ended on a count out. Cody backdropped Owens on the ring apron, and Rollins became belligerent toward Owens.
Owens told him this was his match and walked off for Cody to get the count out victory. When Cody climbed to the top rope to celebrate, Rollins shoved him off to the floor and Cody injured his leg as the show ended.
The ceremony and this match were by far the best parts of a episode that lacked concise storylines or consistency as to why certain matches were happening.
