RK-Bro weren’t supposed to last past a single night originally, and yet here they are in their second reign as RAW Tag Team Champions, and defending on Wrestlemania. They have two top teams facing them tonight – with Street Profits & Alpha Academy both being former champions. At ROH Supercard of Honor, loud chants of ‘tag team wrestling’ would ring out, and if any match on Wrestlemania weekend could do this for WWE – it’s this one.
Triple H Hits The Ring To Kick Off The Show
Before this match could get started, Triple H would make his way out. This is his second time showing up to a WWE event since his health issues in 2021, showing up at NXT Stand & Deliver yesterday. He’d make his way down to the ring. Many times at Wrestlemania, Triple H has made magic in that ring – but has formally retired at this point.
Still, he’d do his iconic entrance tonight for the massive crowd – reported to be around 70k last night. He’d soak in the reaction of the crowd before grabbing a microphone. Triple H would say thank you, and to show his love in the best way he knows how – in welcoming everyone to Wrestlemania!
He’d leave his boots in the ring, a symbolic showing that Triple H deserves. This retirement is true – as due to health conditions, he simply can not risk hitting the ring for another match. His final Wrestlemania match came in 2019, when he defeated longtime partner and rival – Batista.
Triple Threat Tag Team Chaos
Once all three teams hit the ring, Ford, Gable & Riddle would keep in the ring to kick things off. Gable shushed everyone, before taking a slap to the face from Ford. Riddle was dropped with a lariat, before Gable nailed a German Suplex. Orton, Dawkins & Otis hit the ring – with Otis being the last man standing.
All six men hit the ring for a brawl, before Gable & Ford kept the ring. Ford dove over the turnbuckle onto the four men at ringside, before Gable would soar with a moonsault. Back into the ring, Riddle would be hit with a German Suplex/Discus Lariat combo from Alpha Academy, before Otis would nail some short arm lariats.
Otis would take his time with some bodyslams, with him controlling the pace of the match. Gable got the tag for a Northern Lights Suplex, before bending the knee of Riddle back. Ford got back into the ring and nailed a dropkick, before being launched across the ring with a Monkey Flip for a near fall.
Two RKO’s Out Of The Sky Secure The Win For RK-Bro
Dawkins got the tag and nailed a big back elbow, before tossing anyone that moved with a suplex. A twisting Butterfly Suplex got a two count on Riddle, with Otis saving the match. Riddle would get caught in an ankle lock, but was able to get out with a knee strike. Dawkins took Bro-To-Sleep, and Orton got the tag.
Orton would nail some lariats, before backdropping Ford off the announce desk, with Gable going down soon after. RK-Bro hit draping DDT’s in the ring, before looking for RKO’s. Alpha Academy would pull RK-Bro out, before hitting a heavy back elbow, the Steiner Bulldog, and Otis would look for Vader Bomb. Street profits would get the ring, before hitting a massive tag team Blockbuster for a near fall.
Riddle would hit a PK on Otis on the outside, before Dawkins would send him to the floor. Orton looked for an RKO, but would take a Sky High. Montez Ford went up top for a splash, and Riddle took him off the top rope with an RKO. Gable would dive into an RKO from Orton, and RK-Bro retains!
After the bell, Chad Gable would square up with Gable Steveson, who was welcomed into the ring by Street Profits. Gable would get a free lesson from Chad Gable, who told him to shush before getting tossed across the ring.
