Wrestlemania 38 did not get off to a great start, as Rick Boogs would suffer a major injury to start the show. During his match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships, Boogs attempted to get both Jimmy & Jey Uso up onto his shoulders – and his leg gave out. Partner Shinsuke Nakamura would finish the match, with The Usos remaining on top of the Smackdown Tag Team division.
Rick Boogs Shares Injury Update Following Successful Surgery
Following successful surgery to repair a torn quad and patella tendon – Rick Boogs is already back to getting some workouts in. In a YouTube video titled “Hospital Bed Ridden To UNSTOPPABLE FORCE”, Boogs was walking laps around his neighbourhood with the help of crutches. Add in No Easy Way Out, the song by Robert Tepper made iconic by Rocky IV – and you have an inspiring showcase.
The timeline for the return to the ring of Rick Boogs is set between six to nine months, but given this early burst just days after surgery? Boogs could be set to shock the world. We’ve seen rapid returns from injury in the past, notably by John Cena – but the faster Boogs returns, the more respect he’s likely to earn from Vince McMahon.
Impressing Many Fans At Wrestlemania 38
Many fans got their first taste of Rick Boogs at Wrestlemania 38, and despite getting injured – his look and insane charisma has many people becoming fans. The sky is the limit for Boogs in WWE, perhaps having a higher ceiling in the company than even Shinsuke Nakamura.
Between his throwback look and guitar skills alone, Boogs is set for a great run in WWE. This injury is a simple setback – and he’s already promised to return bigger and better than ever before. Considering the progress he’s already made, The Usos better watch their backs.
