The UFC is one of the most popular MMA promotions in the world, and if not the single most popular one. This is because they are so good at marketing and making noise. You are unable to miss any of their stories even if you only have a slight interest in MMA.
This time, President Dana White ‘unintentionally’ revealed very fishy details about the upcoming UFC 276 event. While on the podcast, The Pivot Podcast, which they filmed in the headquarters of the UFC, the camera caught a glimpse of a table on which almost all fighter names were spread around and matched to one another.
A Major Teaser Leaked – Khamzat Chimaev Will Fight Nate Diaz At UFC 276
In the left bottom corner of the screen, at one point of the podcast episode, as Dana White was shown handshaking some fighter, there was a table where we could’ve seen bouts like Adesanya vs Cannonier, and Tate vs Murphy, etc. However, the most intriguing match-up was Khamzat Chimaev vs Nate Diaz.
These two are one of the most spoken about fighters since the UFC 273 event. Khamzat did show great endurance and readiness in his bout vs Burns. The public expected an active ground fight or a fast finish to the bout. What they’ve got was a brutal three-round fist hammering. The bloodiest bout of the event. The real main event as some have proclaimed it.
At the same time, Nate Diaz starts posting all-guns-blazing posts to the UFC promotion on social media. Speaking how the promotion is slow-rolling him, how they are making him fight Conor or no one else, how he is not satisfied with the money, how he cannot wait for his contract to end, and the list goes on.
Now the long-awaited ‘retirement’ fight that Nate Diaz spoke so eagerly about is to happen on the 2nd of July. There is still no confirmation for this information by the UFC, but the fans have already gone wild.
Critics are stating that this is maybe the best match-up for Khamzat Chimaev. As such it might present a ticket to a possible title shot. All he needs to do is ‘smash’ Nate Diaz first.
Although the Mexican-American is willing to leave the UFC as soon as possible, this doesn’t mean that he will give up his last fight easily. He is one of the fighters who can really put on a good show. Even though he lost three out of four of his recent matches, he still is one of the most feared Brasilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters in the promotion. His anger, brutality, and fearlessness make him a serious opponent.
Khamzat on the other hand does not have any losses until now. Will he be able to go through Nate as easily as he wants?
After his previous fight, regardless of his win, he stated that he needs to fight smarter in the future. He allowed Burns to cause too much damage to him. Will he be able to play this bout smarter than the last one? Will he defeat Nate?
