We are aware of the quarrels that go on between Tony Ferguson and the UFC promotion, or Dana White, to be more precise.
In his latest debut in front of the cameras, he downgraded the UFC to a maximum level. Ferguson blames them that they are blackmailing him and benching him for no particular reason. What overfilled the glass is the comparison – that they are like drug dealers in a certain way. They are making you do stuff and if you refuse they are not giving you your ‘dope’, or in his case the fights that he requests.
Conor McGregor Slams Tony Fergusson – Maybe It’s You That’s The Issue!
“The promoters here, act like drug dealers sometimes. They just throw around a couple of bucks here “and there.”- El Cucuy says – “They’re like C’mere kid, C’mere kid, take this, take this. And if you don’t have the will to say no to that stupid shit. Then you’re gonna get a good fucking.”
Despite his ‘not so great’ relationship with the UFC, the Notorious Conor McGregor stepped in in the defense of the promotion this time. His opinion is contrary to Ferguson’s. He thinks that the slow-rolling and benching don’t have anything to do with the UFC, but it is solely Ferguson’s fault. And as a reasonable adult man, he should take the responsibility into his hands.
“Tony Ferguson, who changes representation around 4 times a year, is saying it’s someone else fault he is in the position he is in. How many bridges do you burn before you look yourself in the mirror and say “maybe it’s me that’s the issue? God bless you, pal, I’ll say a prayer.” – The Notorious finishes his tweet.
Conor McGregor is the single highest-paid UFC fighter in the history of the UFC. He is up from the second place, by an astonishing $5 million, totaling his pay to $15 million.
It is obvious that Conor is the wild child in the family. Despite having everything and being the highest paid, he still finds something to complain about. However, in situations like this, he has shown to be pretty realistic. He looks at the situation objectively and makes a decision. And this time, I think he’s made a correct assumption.
Tony Ferguson once had the value of a really good UFC fighter. He hasn’t lost a fight in the period from 2013 until 2019. He had twelve consecutive wins. However, in the last two years, something seems to be changing. He lost three consecutive fights since 2020 until now. This will be his fourth bout in 2 years. Is the UFC slow-playing him because he is not offering much in the octagon?
The following fight against Michael Chandler at the UFC 274 might change much for El Cucuy. If he wins, he might restore UFC’s hope in him. However, if he loses…
