The drama of the Elon Musk Twitter takeover is still ongoing. While it lasts, it attracts many reactions and comments from the public. Most of them surrounding the controversial hold up on the deal. Elon keeps stimulating these reactions and comments by sharing numerous thoughts, memes, and photos. All this on the platform he tries to buy.
Musk’s most recent tweet regarding this is a sarcastic cartoon. According to DailyStar, the artist of the cartoon is the Chinese artist Devil Pepper. The artist did not receive credit for the photo by the billionaire since he didn’t mention him on the post and moreover, he deleted his signature from the cartoon before sharing it. Pepper drew the cartoon back in April. However, the drawing reaches the billionaire one month later.
Does Elon Musk See Himself As The Liberator Of Twitter – What Does The Sarcastic Photo Represent?
In the cartoon, there is a blue bird in the cage widely recognized as the mascot for Twitter. Elon is portrayed next to the cage, down on one knee, with his right hand opening the birdcage.
Without giving any words to accompany the cartoon, Elon uses the photo to send a message to the world. Now, the Twitterati are trying to decipher the meaning behind the photo and the reason for its share.
While theories and conspiracies emerge, there are two potential meanings to the cartoon that might be the reason for sharing.
The first, but the more plausible theory is that the cartoon symbolizes Elon’s initial idea behind getting into the deal for buying the platform. That is the freeing of the platform from censorship. Portraying Twitter as a bird in a cage, into the clamps of the democratic political wing of the USA.
And you know what they say about birds. Their song is most cheerful when they are free. Of course, to grasp the complete situation, it requires someone like Elon to show up and save the bird by releasing it into the world.
“Does that mean you will restore suspended accounts?” and “Depoliticize Twitter’s algorithm to consider an advance in democracy.” – are some of the replies to the tweet that are worth mentioning.
The second interpretation of the photo might be that Elon is letting go of the idea to take over the social media platform. The Twitter bird might represent his initial thoughts about buying the platform, and the freeing out of the cage might represent his letting go of these thoughts.
“Could it mean you are trying to let go of $TWTR acquisition? Or that you are going to unlock Twitter’s potential?” – one comment supporting the latter theory states.
However, Elon Musk does have more to worry about lately. The Twitter saga scores one more twist since its start when reports emerged that a group of investors is suing Musk. According to them, he violates the California Corporate laws on several points throughout the ‘deal’. Will this be the final turning point for Musk?
What do you think? Will the billionaire end up taking over the platform? Or will he back up?
