The WWE career of Jeet Rama is one doomed to be forgotten as time goes on. Having signed to the NXT brand in his mid-30’s, Rama essentially spent his entire stint in the company working in the WWE Performance Center. He made his televised debut against AJ Styles during WWE Superstar Spectacle – before being released from the company as the vision of NXT changed. However, his time spent in WWE will not go to waste, as he now looks to pass this knowledge along to the people in India, as he has opened his own wrestling academy in the country.
Jeet Rama Opens Wrestling Academy In India
Taking to Twitter to spread the word, Jeet Rama would have the following to say.
“I started a Pro wrestling academy in India and I need your support so my friends, my followers, my well-wishers please spread this news everywhere. Thank you.”
When a fan said he hopes that someday India will have a promotion to rival AEW & WWE – Rama would keep hopes alive by saying that is a hope for his school. India is an absolutely massive market for professional wrestling, and if Rama can put his years of experience learning from the likes of Matt Bloom, Norman Smiley, Robbie Brookside & William Regal to good use? It’s not impossible for this to turn into a potentially major promotion.
Right now, Rama needs to recruit and train students, and potentially link up with some bigger companies. Impact Wrestling has tried in the past to get a presence in India with the failed Ring Ka King brand, which ran for four months in 2012. It was a good idea, but Impact Wrestling wasn’t able to keep a separate brand alive at the time.
However, if Rama can provide the talent and get a place to tape? Impact could have a second stab at this, and really capture the market once and for all. There’s also a chance that Rama could get into the long rumored Indian WWE Performance Center as a trainer, if that plan ever gets off the ground.
