Charles Oliveira is one of the most feared MMA fighters in the world at the moment. His professional record stands at 32-8-0 and he hasn’t lost a fight since 2017. After his loss to Paul Felder, he decided to toughen up and become the best version of himself. During his following state of supremacy, he beat fighters such as Dustin Poirier, Tony Ferguson, and Michael Chandler. His current win streak is 10 fights.
However, this is not enough to scare away Justin Gaethje. Finally, these two will fight at the UFC 274 next week and as time is closing by the excitement is on a linear rise.
Justin Gaethje Says He Will Punch A Hole In Oliveira’s Face
Several days ago, Charles Oliveira releases a statement saying that Gaethje is good at playing games only and what he is trying to do is win the mind games. However, today the challenger responded quickly and brutally to this.
“I’m going to knock a hole right in his face. That’s my initial intent. I’m not here to play mind games or talk shit. My deeds speak for themselves. The only game that I am going to play is ‘Cause as much pain to Oliveira as possible’.” – Gaethje says and adds – “Luckily for me, Charles is growing a big head right now. He’s going to say some crazy things at the press conference. Hopefully, he thinks he’s infallible. That would be great for me.”
Gaethje is not a newbie in the sport as well. He has a professional record of 23-3-0 making him with a fewer percentage of losses than his opponent. His last loss was in 2020 to Khabib Nurmagomedov. Will we face the same situation as at UFC 254?
The challenger Gaethje says – “Khabib was amazing that night, larger than life. That won’t be the case on May 7. I’m going to break Oliveira mentally and physically. I want it more. History will say that I was a champion. However, I want to do it in a different way. And I get that chance against Oliveira.”
Gathje is a great wrestler. His wrestling technique is what he plans to use on Saturday to win the fight. Don’t get me wrong, Gaethje is a great striker as well. Oliveira should not underestimate him in any case.
“Firstly, a wrestler, that’s what I am. The work that it takes to accomplish anything in wrestling is unlike anything else I’ve ever taken part in. After thousands of hours on the mat, wrestling helped me gain that mental fortitude, a belief in myself, and the confidence to push through whenever I feel like I can’t go on.” – He exclaims with immense belief in his abilities.
He is in the UFC for five years now. According to him, the time is right that he crowns this career with a title. Will he be able to prove himself at the UFC 274 event? Will he back up this talk with some work?
