Kanye West doesn’t seem to have good luck when it comes to keeping his legal counsel. As the divorce proceedings between Kanye and Kim Kardashian rage on, Kanye has just lost his fourth attorney. Samantha Spector has officially stepped down from her role as Kanye’s representative.
In court documents filed by Spector, she cites “an irreconcilable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship” for her reason for wanting to walk away from West. Not many other details are known at this time, but it’s safe to say that after going through four lawyers, it’s Kanye who is the real problem here.
Kanye West’s 4TH Lawyer Quits Amid Kim Kardashian Divorce
Samantha Spector initially signed on to represent Kanye in March after he fired his third attorney Chris Melcher. According to sources, their relationship soured and “had become extremely difficult, with little communication”. Spector has quite an impressive reputation and most recently represented Nicole Young in her divorce from Dr. Dre. Spector was able to ensure that her client got a massive payout…to the tune of $100 million, that is.
Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021 after seven years of marriage. The former couple share four children – North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3. The two still are not officially divorced as they continue to battle it out in court. Kanye and Kim are still trying to come to an agreement about their alleged $2.1 billion in assets as well as a custody agreement that suits both parents.
Kim and Kanye have been anything but amicable after Kanye’s continued public attacks on Kim’s parenting choices. He has also targeted her new romance with Pete Davidson and often lashed out at the comedian on social media. After months of being the subject of Kanye’s verbal tirades, Kardashian finally fired back some shots of her own.
“Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all,” she said in a statement in February.
“It saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way,” Kim noted, before taking a swipe at her ex’s inability to keep a lawyer. “I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably.”
