This past Saturday, May 7, Roman Reigns appeared at a house show prior to WrestleMania Backlash and following a win against Drew McIntyre, he broke character to give a heartfelt thanks to the fans. Thankfully, at least one fan recorded him and the video’s gone all over the internet and social media.
For years, Reigns was booked as a main eventer in the WWE and shoved down our throats as someone we should cheer for. It’s typical of Vince McMahon as we’re supposed to figure out who we’re supposed to cheer for.
Roman Reigns Hints at Retiring; Breaks Character to Thank Fans at House Show
At the outbreak of the pandemic and lockdown, Reigns took time off to protect himself as he’s immunocompromised due to his multiple leukemia battles.
No one can blame him and given the fact it’s reportedly the kind of leukemia that can’t be fully cured it was a very wise decision. While away he came up with the idea to turn heel, and the Tribal Chief was born.
As a heel, Reigns has reached a level of popularity with the fans he wasn’t able to get before. He’s reportedly a great person overall and one of the kindest, but those types often play the best villains.

While at the top of his game and riding high with the fans, Reigns dropped a hint that he’s going to be retiring or leaving the WWE soon.
In the video above, he said, “I’ve been here a couple of times in the past ten years. I’m starting to work into a new phase in my career, and I honestly don’t know if I’ll be back here again. If that’s the case, I just wanna say thank you for all these years of support.”
The news spread like wildfire across social media as fans shared their thoughts and feeling on him possibly leaving wrestling.
It’s not a secret that he’s been eyeing a jump to Hollywood and follow in the Rock and others’ footsteps.
There’s no doubt he’ll carve a successful movie career out of his move, but that brings us to the question of when will that happen?
Reigns signed a multiyear contract with the WWE in 2019, but the length and terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
It could be anywhere from three to ten years or anywhere in between. It’s been speculated that it’ll end in 2023, which would be a standard length for WWE’s top stars by our recollection.
This means we have time to enjoy him in the ring, but time is running out and everyone has to move on at some point. Of course, there’s always a chance that Reigns resigns but it’s not looking likely.
Will Vince talk Reigns into resigning or are we in the final months of his wrestling career? Let us know in the comments below.
