Impact Wrestling Slammiversay Results have been waiting for this one. Will it be a passing the torch moment, or will Eric Young hold on and show the old guard still has it?
Their lockups were as intense as we expected and Young had the upper hand early on, but Josh turned it around and they exchanged slaps and moves and reversals.
Hannifan announced this is Brian Hebner’s final match as a referee as well.
After trading shots, Josh hit a rolling senton but missed a moonsault. Young missed his own attempt, and they caught each other with clotheslines and traded blows without hesitating.
Josh hammered Young down with open palm strikes, then face washed him as he paid tribute to Samoa Joe.

Young caught him off he ropes to hit a Death Valley driver for a pin attempt.
On the floor, Deaner set up a table by the entranceway and showed it to Josh.
Josh fought back and nearly put Young through the table by driving him off the apron, but Young hung on and then Young fought him off the top rope to hit a flying elbow for a near pinfall.
Young went to the floor and unhooked the canvas like he did on the previous episodes of IMPACT!
All the stops
Josh hit a power bomb, then stepped over into a crab attempt but Josh let go to knock Deaner off the apron and then do the same to Doering.
Young countered a C-4 Spike to his Jeff Jarrett’s old moves for a near pinfall, and Young screamed in frustration when Josh kicked out. Young then caught him off the ropes with a Black Hole Slam, but Josh stayed alive.
Josh tried for a C-4 Spike, then switched to a Styles Clash for a near pinfall. Josh floated over to lock in an ankle lock and Deaner threw yellow powder in Hebner’s eyes as Young tapped out.

Josh caught Doering with a shoulder in the ropes and pulled him over the ropes and hit an Olympic Slam through the table.
Deaner was in the ring with the VBD flag, so Josh pulled a Canadian one out from under the ring and clocked Deaner with it.
Young broke a guitar over Josh’s head and Hebner could see well enough to count, but Josh kicked out.
Young pulled the canvas back to exposed the wood beneath and piledrove Josh into it for another near pinfall.
Josh fought out of a piledriver attempt off the top rope and locked in an ankle lock but Young kicked free.
Josh hit a Yurinagi and a C-4 Spike for the win.
This was a great match, even if pretty over the top on Josh kicking out of some of those moves. It was a great celebration of Impact Wrestling’s history with plenty of homages to previous greats.
