The news made the headlines last week when the US customs and border protection manages to seize a considerable amount of cannabis, MDMA, and amphetamines.
Joe Rogan is not someone that is all sport and healthy life when it comes to it. Despite his looks and his successful career in sports, the UFC color commentator does enjoy psychedelics and weed occasionally.
He speaks about it on many occasions in his podcast and no surprise that now, when a big shipment is caught at the border he is not so happy. However, this time he even chooses to address his frustration to the agency publicly.
Joe Rogan Urges Police And Customs Officials To Take Drugs To ‘Rethink Their Life’
The CBP shares a tweet ‘bragging’ about their catch. The drugs are found in a car coming from Canada. In what appears to be a regular return-from-vacation trip, the agents see something more. They stop the car and their suspicions are confirmed.
“The narcotic substances field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine, marijuana, and psilocybin,” – they write in the tweet.
Everybody is aware that weed is legal in both Canada and New York State. However, passing it through borders is illegal. And taking into consideration that weed is not the only thing that the officers found in the vehicle, it is safe to assume that the US couple driving in the vehicle is in a lot of trouble now.
Nonetheless, Rogan doesn’t comply with these laws. He tweets to the CPB that they first need to try these substances and decide on their legality.
“You should take all these drugs and rethink your life.” – The famous podcaster tweets.
Of course, this doesn’t deserve an answer from the officials. It is unserious and irresponsible to promote no restrictions on drugs. Especially when crossing borders.
The CBP Director Steven Bronson has a completely different view on the matter.
“Our CBP officers continue to remain dedicated and vigilant, successfully intercepting these illegal substances. I am proud of their enforcement efforts to ensure the safety of our communities.”
Joe Rogan is open about his regular use of psychedelics, weed, and magic mushrooms. He even fancies lighting one up during filming for the podcast and sharing it with his guests. The most famous person to smoke with him on one occasion is no one else, but the world’s most wealthy man, Elon Musk. Although nobody is aware of Elon’s use of psychedelics, he is openly a supporter of using them for medical purposes.
“Psychedelics and MDMA can make a real difference to mental health, especially for extreme depression and PTSD. We should take this seriously.” – the billionaire shares his opinion in a tweet several days ago.
Amongst other drugs, Joe Rogan is a promotor for the DMT drug, big time. At one point in his life, he seems to be obsessing with it and not a single guest passes on his podcast without the question – “Have you ever tried DMT?”
