Former WWE Superstar Ric Flair is having a fun and exciting summer of 22 as he’s going to have his first match in years, which will also be the official final match for the 73 year old legend at Starrcast V.
But before that, there’s going to me more happening as it was recently announced Flair will be the guest of honor at The Roast of Ric Flair on July 29 at the Nashville Fairgrounds and it’ll be live on FITE.
On Starrcast’s site, they describe the roast as: “The last weekend in July is going to be Ric’s swan song in a professional wrestling ring, so what better way to send him off before his final match than giving him a proper roast? Ric’s career has transcended professional wrestling and made him a pop culture icon. You’ve seen his influence everywhere from sports to hip hop. He’s done it all, except get roasted by some of his dearest friends and the most talented comedians in the world. That all changes on July 29th.”
Taking Mike Tyson’s best
The list of comedians and friends that’ll be roasting Flair is still growing, but one that’s going to take part is “The Baddest Man on the Planet” Mike Tyson.
While Tyson is known for dolling out punishment in the ring, he’s entering into an arena that Flair’s noted for after decades of cutting promos and this is going to be fun to watch.
The fact the pair are friends and business partners will only make it more enjoyable.
They recently worked out a deal for Tyson’s Tyson 2.0 cannabis company and Flair’s Ric Flair Drip to work together to sell different marijuana products like edibles and so on.
As of the time of this writing, Tyson isn’t alone as Diamond Dallas Page and Eric Bischoff are also booked for the roast.
There are also reports other big names are being talked to about taking part, so we’ll have to wait and see who all will take part.
It’s going to be a party
Ric Flair is known for partying during his heyday, and while he may or may not be up to much more than sharing a few drinks, we have no doubt this will be a fun time as the night unfolds.
We expect plenty of stories to go with the jokes, and when Flair gets his chance to respond it’s going to be priceless.
Who else do you think will join the Roast? Let us know in the comments below.
