Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuG_TOtBEfc
Tonight should be a good one as Riddle will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Championship, Max Dupri will announce his first signing, and Vince McMahon is expected to open the show.
Rumors are swirling that he’ll address the investigation via his Mr. McMahon character to boost the ratings, and that should be a interesting moment.
We’ll be back at 8 p.m. EST to get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling.
Segment 1
Vince came out to open the show and cited the words Now, Then, Forever, and Together, with an emphasis on the latter as he presented himself as a fan friendly face to earn some good will and boost ratings.
Riddle came out and gave a heartfelt tribute to Randy Orton.
Segment 2
Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin
This started out as brutal as we expected for a finale to their feud, and Corbin sent Moss into the ring post, then clotheslined him over the barricade as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
This was a good match as they kept going back and forth before Moss his two Punch Lines for the win.
Segment 4
Natalya cut a promo where she talked up her pedigree and sharpshooter and how she’ll defeat Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank.
Segment 5
New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods) vs. Jinder Mahal and Shanky
This was an interesting match until Woods started playing his trombone and Shanky danced. An incensed Mahal ripped into Shanky and Kofi his a Trouble in paradise on Mahal for the win.
Segment 6
Adam Pearce announced Sheamus and Drew McIntyre are in the MITB match, but Sheamus jumped the gun and taunted Drew when he was mentioned first. Drew sent him to the floor with a clothesline and then his a Claymore.
Segment 7
Money in the Bank Qualifying Match – Raquel Rodriguez vs. Shayna Baszler
This felt like they could’ve done a lot more with it before Raquel slammed Baszler for the win.
Segment 8
Undisputed Championship – Roman Reigns (c) w/Paul Heyman vs. Riddle
Riddle started the match fast and sent Reigns to the floor where he hit a corkscrew moonsault as we headed to commercial.
Segment 9
Reigns took over with a chokeslam for a near pinfall, then suplexed Riddle onto the announce desk as we headed to commercial.
Segment 10
Reigns survived a RKO, then his a spear off the ropes to win. As he was leaving the ring, Brock Lesnar came out and took out the Bloodline with a series of F-5s.
As great as it was to see Lesnar back, we expect to end like before. The show’s energy was drained away from the opening segment and it never recovered despite a great performance by Riddle and Reigns.
