Genoa City is showing some potential as battle lines are being drawn and some old tactics we’ve seen the previous weeks will be revisited with the hope of different outcomes.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For July 12: Nikki keeps pushing
It’s understandable why Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) would be so animate that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) is forced out of Genoa City.
She’s so intent that she’ll approach Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) about doing her part to convince Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to turn on his mom, or at least for Summer to make Diane’s life miserable.
This is going to be a tough spot as we’re sure Nikki will play the family card, putting Summer between the Newmans and Kyle. This isn’t a fight Nikki is likely to win.
In fact, it could end up pushing away another Newman offspring if Diane continues to show she’s changed.
There are definitely some fun possibilities here.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For July 12: Phyllis regroups
After finding herself on the outs in nearly every regard, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will regroup and come up with a different plan of attack to defeat Diane.
Since she hasn’t been able to out scheme or out think Diane, ‘Young and the Restless’ think she’s going to try to play up the truce angle again.
We mentioned it previously, but Phyllis lost her cool before she could implement it, so here’s hoping this time she’ll be able to make it work.
It’ll be hard for her since she loves being the aggressive one, and we’re curious how long she’ll be able to play nice with Diane.
For her part, we’re sure Diane will do everything she can to rankle Phyllis, and the games will commence.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For July 12: Nick’s announcement
This is a curious one since Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) already told his family he’s coming back to Newman Enterprises, so we think this will involve him updating Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) that he’ll be taking over Nick’s company.
We’re sure they talked about this possibility off screen, but in the off chance Nick hadn’t mentioned it to Noah, we suspect there will be some shocking reactions to the announcement.
