Despite continuing to put on great shows weekly, AEW has been missing something since 2021. Kenny Omega is one of the men who helped start the company, and despite a list of injuries – dominated as AEW World Champion until Hangman Page took him down at Full Gear 2021. Omega would ask The Young Bucks to steer the ship while he was gone, and he’d be gone from TV since then. However, it’s just about time for him to return.
Kenny Omega To Return To Ring At All Out Alongside Young Bucks?
The in-ring return of Kenny Omega is now on the horizon – with the goal of All Out set. Current plans as reported by Fightful is for Omega to team with The Young Bucks to face Adam Cole & reDRagon in a major trios match at the event. Omega & Cole have rarely gotten along, and Cole calling the shots in The Elite for the past year, even trying to rebrand as The Undisputed Elite is enough to cause an issue.
This trios match is something fans have wanted to see since Cole, Fish & O’Reilly signed with AEW – and could finally be happening. It could even just be the first part of a feud, with Omega vs. Cole potentially set to meet in a singles match at Full Gear. Omega will need to work his way back up to a main event level in the ring, and kicking off with some trios matches should allow him to work through some of the potential ring rust on the Best Bout Machine.
Many Potential Matches For Omega In AEW After A Year Away
The positive of Kenny Omega being out of action for so long is that AEW has been able to bring in and build up some names – setting up some potentially huge matches. The likes of Keith Lee, Claudio Castagnoli, and revitalised names like Chris Jericho & Jon Moxley await matches with Omega, with any of those four opponents potentially putting on five star classics with Omega.
Add in potential matches with CM Punk, Brody King, Malakai Black, Swerve Strickland, Ricky Starks, Konosuke Takeshita and more? This is an exciting time to be an AEW fan. The wait was long, but having Omega back in the ring and healthy will be worth it.
