This looks like it’s going to be a fun show with Angelo Dawkins facing Jimmy Uso, and we’re going to see the special guest referee named for their undisputed tag team championship match at SummerSlam.
We’ll be back to kick WWE Smackdown Live Results into gear at the 8 p.m. EST start time and we’ll have plenty of snacks.
Segment 1
Pat McAfee was introduced and celebrated for signing a multi-year deal with the WWE, and then got into a back and forth with Happy Corbin before he introduced Live Morgan.
Segment 2
Championship Contenders Match – Liv Morgan vs. Natalya
This started off as a decent back and forth before they went to the apron and Natalys slingshoted Morgan into the ring post as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
The back and forths continued until Morgan hit an Oblivion for the win.
Segment 4
The New Day dressed as the Viking Raiders and mocked them to lure them into an ambush by Mahal and Shanky.
Segment 5
Lacey Evans vs. Aliyah
Evans wasn’t happy with the fans welcome to her entrance, and after listed what she went through and apologized, the fans chanted “You suck!” so she told them they could “go to hell” and walked out without a match.
Segment 6
Drew McIntyre vs. Ridge Holland w/Sheamus, Butch
After Sheamus pulled another bait and switch, Drew made quick work of Ridge once he got going and ended it with a White Noise and Claymore for the pin.
Segment 7
Theory vs. Madcap Moss
This started off with a back and forth shoulderblocks and posing, then Moss sent Theory to the floor with a clothesline. Theory leapfrogged Moss and Moss ran into the ring steps as we headed to commercial.
Segment 8
This was a great match that ended with a DQ when Theory hit Moss with the MOTB briefcase. As Theory bragged on the ramp, Sami Zayn came out to confront him.
Theory mocked him and then the Usos came out and Theory retreated to the ring where Moss threw him into the ring post and then over the barricade.
Segment 9
Jimmy Uso w/Jey Uso vs. Angelo Dawkins w/Montez Ford
Sami Zayn being on the commentary team makes us think he’s going to be the special guest referee at SummerSlam.
After a feeling each other out start, Dawkins sent Jimmy into the time keeper’s area with a running shoulder block as we headed to commercial.
Segment 10
After the ref was knocked out, Dawkins won with a Sky High powerbomb for the win but Jimmy’s right shoulder was up.
Adam Pearce came out and said that’s why they need a special guest referee and introduced Double J Jeff Jarrett via a video package.
The two teams them went after each other as the show ended.
