Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Results!
Tonight looks like it’ll be a fun one with some good looking matches scheduled and the special guest referee for the tag title match at SummerSlam will be named.
Let’s get to the action!
Michael Cole started the night by introducing Pat McAfee after he signed a multi-year deal to remain as commentator with the WWE.
He thanks Orlando for letting him there and apologized for last week when fans had to listen to Corey Graves and Happy Corbin, then called up Corbin attacking him at the MITB.

His neck wasn’t fractured, merely bruised, and he knew Corbin long before us and that they were roommates as rookies with the Indianapolis Colts.
He said Corbin was humble and a hard worker, but that changed when Corbin came to the WWE. McAfee promised to humble Corbin back to being a respectful member of society.
Corbin interrupted him on the titantron and called McAfee too stupid to stay in his own lane and told him to get back behind the commentary table.
Once they were done exchanging pleasantries, McAfee introduced Liv Morgan.
Championship Contenders Match – Liv Morgan vs. Natalya
Natalya started it off fast by going after Morgan, and they traded takedowns and head and leg locks.
Morgan hit a dropkick off the ropes for a pin attempt, then she rolled up Natalya a couple more times for pin attempts.
After Morgan kicked out of a sharpshooter on the apron and missed an Oblivion, Natalya sling shoted her into the ring post as we headed to commercial.

After Natalya worked her over, Morgan hit a missile dropkick to buy some time. Morgan kipped up and fired a series of kicks into Natalya and rolled her up for a pin attempt.
Morgan missed a double kick to Natalya’s back and took a German suplex for a near pinfall.
Morgan hit a double knees and Oblivion for the win. This was a good match, but they looked a little out of synch at times. They worked through it to end on a high note.
After the match, Kayla Braxton tried to stir the pot by saying her win wasn’t as dominate and Ronda Rousey’s last week and Morgan responded by saying she’s the champion and has been the underdog her whole life.
Elsewhere, Paul Heyman tried to convince Theory to schedule a match at a big event if he doesn’t cash in at SummerSlam.
Theory refused and promised to cash in on whoever wins the match, and he might hire Heyman as his special council.
The New Day insults the Viking Raiders

The New Day came out dressed as the Viking Raiders from head to toe. They continued mocking the Viking Raiders. This has worked so well for them up to now.
They were in mid skit when the Viking Raiders music interrupted them and Erik and Ivar came out. They promised to mangle and break the New Day, and New Day continued mocking them
As the Raiders reached the ring, Jinder Mahal and Shanky attacked from the sides and the New Day took them out with crossbodies over the top rope to hold the ring.

Evans wasn’t happy with her welcome by the fans, so she listed what she’s been through and accomplished while lecturing the fans before the match.
After she apologized, the fans booed and she told them to “go to hell” and left the ring without having her match.
