Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn are old ‘palls’. They’ve worked together when promoting the Amanda Serrano against Katie Taylor fight back in April. During the promotion of the fight, it came to several close contacts of the pair, and the world couldn’t help but start fantasizing about who would win in a fight between the two.
Eddie Hearn admits that he would get a knockout by the Youtuber and would end up ‘facedown’ on the canvas. Hearn also has a connection to Jake Paul in a way that – he was once a promoter for one of his fights. He promoted the debut fight of the YouTuber when he fought AnEson Gib back in 2020. Since this boxing debut, Jake did advance much in his career. He ended up beating Tyron Woodley and Ben Asken.
Eddie Hearn Is Afraid Of Jake Paul – He Would Spark Me Out In A Fight
While trying his ‘luck’ in boxing, Paul has aspirations to become a full-time boxing promoter as well. Aside from the Amanda vs Katie fight he also promotes his own fights.
Eddie Hearn spoke badly about Jake after the Amanda fight and labeled him as an ‘average’ fighter that will not reach any significant success in boxing. However, when speaking about fighting him, he says that he would consider getting into the ring against him. But only under one condition, if he is able to extract $10 million or more from the fight.
“I can fight a very little bit. I’ve been around boxing and I’ve had a couple of fights but I’m very, very bad” – Eddie says. “I said to my old man, how much, do you think, to get in the ring with Jake Paul, because it would do massive numbers. Can you imagine the UK audience, the thought of me getting a knock out? It would be one of them where we don’t care who gets knocked out. We can’t stand them both, someone will get knocked out.”
While he is most probably right about that, he puts a price tag for which he is willing to risk ending up on the canvas ‘facedown’.
“I’d do it for £10million, and it would do one million pay-per-view buys in the UK. The numbers would add up. But I would probably have to live the fact he was going to spark me out bad. I would have a right go, I wouldn’t be defending myself and trying to survive. I’d stick it to him and he’d clean me out, spectacularly, probably facedown.” – he confesses.
What do you think? Who would win in such a fight?
