Molly McCann reveals that her teammate Paddy The Baddy Pimblett is not interested in fighting the UFC Superstar Conor McGregor.
Lately, Paddy has been compared to the Notorious due to his expressive character, fighting style, and popularity. He is evidently a rising star. People seem to like him a lot. His ‘nerdy’ looks and atypical face for a fighter make him likable to UFC fans.
Paddy Pimblett Not Interested In Fighting Conor McGregor
Due to his rising popularity, even Dana White had compared him to Conor. Dana White says that due to how the public is accepting him he might end up in a Pay per view event. He sees great potential in him.
Paddy winning three out of three fights in the UFC does make him somewhat of a feared opponent. Coupled with this are his trash-talking abilities that inevitably remind us of Conor’s. So aside from his abilities in the octagon, he shows the ability to get under his opponent’s skin and put that psychological pressure before the fight as well.
With these comparisons, imagining a fight between Conor McGregor and Paddy Pimblett is something that comes naturally.
The Liverpool native fought and defeated Jordan Leavitt in London past weekend. This raised his popularity to an extent that he can immediately jump a place or two and ask for a higher rank fight. A fight against Conor is a possibility as well. However, according to his teammate McCann, this is not Paddy’s plan. He is more of a systematic guy that prefers going step by step, all the way to the title.
“I think when Conor’s on the decline and Paddy’s at his highest height, that’s when it makes sense probably to make that fight for the pair of them.” – McCann says. “But, Paddy’s not after super fights, Paddy’s after bringing the belts home, and Paddy’s after spreading a message and changing the world one fight at a time.”
The teammate confirms that they might visit Conor’s pub in Dublin soon and come face to face with the star.
But, Conor is still inactive in the UFC. Allegedly he is still recovering from the injury he sustained during his most recent fight. However, he is back in training for quite some time now. He is still the highest-paid UFC fighter in the history of the sport, despite his fall in form and in performance.
Paddy will start to fight in pay-per-view events soon, so, having this in mind, his reign is starting. What do you think? Does Paddy The Baddy have what it takes to become the next Conor McGregor? Would you like to see the two clash?
