This past Sunday at All Out – CM Punk would claim his second AEW World Championship. However, this came at a cost. During his main event match against Jon Moxley, he would badly injure his elbow hitting a tope suicida – with surgery being required. Tonight, AEW will address the situation surrounding the AEW World Championship – and with MJF as the #1 contender after wining the Casino Ladder Match? Anything could happen here. In addition to this, the AEW World Trios Championships are also in flux – after a backstage brawl left Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks suspended. Tony Khan himself is here to address both situations live in person.

AEW World & Trios Championships Are Vacant – New Trios Champions To Be Crowned Tonight – Tournament For AEW World Championship Announced

Khan would thank the fans for joining him here tonight, and would address that both the AEW World & Trios Champions will be both vacated. Best Friends vs. Death Triangle will now be for the Trios championship.

Meanwhile, Hangman Page, Bryan Danielson, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, Chris Jericho, and Jon Moxley will battle in the tournament of champions – with a new champion being named at AEW Grand Slam. It starts tonight with Hangman Page & Bryan Danielson as well.

Where does MJF fall into this situation? We’d find out as he would hit the ring.

MJF Was Missed On AEW Dynamite

MJF would say that the devil himself is back in an AEW ring and hopes that everyone can move on from what he said last time we say him. The crowd would chant that he was right, while MJF would show some company pride in the ring – which no one really believed. He’d even ask the crowd for a round of applause for themselves.

MJF would get around to mentioning the tournament. He works smart – not hard, and is fine with the tournament. He’s got his shot whenever he wants, and can enjoy the boatload of money Khan gave him, and let them idiots battle for the belt and get his shot when he wants it.

MJF would speak about leadership, and said that he’s going to be a better leader than Moses. He’s better than him, and everyone knows it. Jon Moxley would hit the ring to meet with MJF, microphone in hand, ready to say MJF is full of crap.

MJF would rip into the crowd finally, giving up the ruse and putting his scarf on – and he views the AEW World Championship as a bargaining chip for the bidding war of 2024. He will take the belt to a real wrestling company with his best friend Cody Rhodes, and can work for a Khan who’s worth a damn.

To quote his idol, it will be whats best for business. Moxley would say this is not the time or the place, and MJF needs to leave the ring before he gets hurt. MJF ripped his shirt off, before MJF put his tail between his legs and ran away.

Jon Moxley Talks From The Heart About What The AEW World Championship Means

Moxley would say he’s pissed off and embarrassed, and especially because he doesn’t have the AEW World Championship. The belt itself is leather and metal, it’s more about what it represents. It represents passion for the sports, for the business, for the fans in the arenas. It represents heroes in a pandemic when the world needed them, it represents what wrestling should be.

That belt represents taking the dark parts of the industry and letting them die in the past where they belong. Moxley thinks that belt means being better than the day before, and everything he loves about this business. However on Sunday, he missed and got pinned.

He was supposed to be on vacation, but someone else missed their shot too – and Moxley is ready to run through the tournament of champions. He’s facing men better in the ring, faster than him, but no one hungrier than Moxley is in that tournament. He will take the ball and run with it once again, and prove he’s a legend.

Who will win this major tournament? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
